Coming off a successful 4th Annual St. Joseph Marathon that brought a record number of participants to town from 20 states this past Saturday, the St. Joseph Sports Commission is set to welcome a new tennis event to town this weekend in hosting the United States Tennis Association Missouri Valley Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational October 3-4 at Noyes Tennis Courts.
Tennis On Campus is a program that features coed, competitive and recreational collegiate team tennis and gives college students a chance to play organized team tennis without the heavy time commitments or demands of varsity team play.
This years field includes 16 university club teams (teams of 8, 128 players total) from across the Midwest in which the field includes:

Matches are best out of five sets in which the winner gets a point for their team. The team with the most points wins the match.
Action concludes on Sunday, October 4 beginning at 8 AM with single elimination bracket play with the top eight teams being seeded into the championship bracket and the low eight teams splitting into two four team, consolation brackets.
“In the continued theme of fit, niche, venue and interest, Noyes Tennis Courts in having 12 lit playing surfaces provides a multitude of options for large fields and a lot of scheduling flexibility,” Executive Director Brett Esely said. “Our relationship with the USTA over the last three years continues to grow stronger which has provided some larger opportunities in which we are excited to welcome Tennis On Campus this event which brings players from several well known institutions across the Midwest for a fun weekend of competition.”
The event will call St. Joseph home for two years as it will return on October 2-3, 2027.
